Martian Micro-Rover Robot Kit
We all know about the exploring robot Sojourner sent by NASA to explore Mars. Our Martian Micro-Rover is also an exploring robot that has an electronic brain (control) that responds to stimulus. It rests during the day or in a lighted room; it starts exploring at night or when the light in the room decreases. Its electronic brain causes this robot to move forward and backward in a straight line. This motion can be adjusted (programmed) using two potentiometers. As it moves, different color lights blink on, and it starts searching for a reflective surface (rock, white shelf, white paper, white plastic, etc.) through the use of an LED/CDS sensing system. You will discover that this little Martian Micro-Rover has its own personality as it moves in a way almost impossible to predict, analyzing, through its CDS (cadmium-sulfite) eye, the materials it finds in its way. You will love your Martian Micro-Rover and it will amaze you and your friends. For use on flat smooth surfaces, desktops, tables, vinyl or smooth wood floors (gym floor). Approximate size: 3 1/2”L x 3 1/4”W x 1 3/4”H. Operates on one 9V battery (not included). Complete with all parts, PC board and instructions. Skill Level 2.
